Parumala Pilgrimage
Parumala pilgrimage In the history of
Malankara orthodox denomination the first pilgrimage to the holy land at
the bank of Pamba river of our first holy saint Parumala thirumeni was
initiated in the year 1969.It was successfully accomplished by Thumpamon
Diocese, St.George's O.C.Y.M, based under St. Ignatius Church. This was
initiated and still happening every year in the month of November by
God's grace. This Pilgrimage is successful due to the hard work and
prayers of the young blood of this youth movement. As years passed by,
believers for the pilgrimage increased and still increasing as the
blessings of our holy saint is countless and ream less.Catholicos of
India has honored our efforts for this pilgrimage by rewarding us with
the honorary name "Mother of pilgrimage"
Only our pilgrimage was fortunate enough to achieve this honor from the catholicose. As a symbol of respect our pilgrimage is specially awarded with a grant from the church and only our youth movement is allowed to conduct a devotional concert in the church premises on the eve of the feast.

Charity
Charity is the most colorful feather of
our cap. Charity is the basis of all good will and good work. We the
young blood always give our first preferences for charity. Every year we
donate the needful to the poor and needy. Every year we have been
providing flood relief funds, fund for those people who are sick and
helpless. We have been conducting medical camps in rural areas and other
needful places. We provide our charitable services mainly for the
following along with other charityworks.
a) Education Fund: we provide funds for those students who are unable to meet up their educational needs. Every year we select students who are eligible for this fund and we provide them with the needful.
b) House construction fund: We provide the needy and shelter less poor people to have their own shelter. We provide them facilities to have their own roof to praise the lord.
c) Marriage Fund: In this world there are so many girls who are not able to get married because of financial problems. We help those kind of girls in our locality to be married in God’s Name.

MGM Gayaka Sangham
M.G.M gayaka sangham under St. George’s OCYM, by the grace of God and
our holy saint releases audio cassettes and c. d’ s every year that
consists of melodious devotional songs. Every year these songs are
written and composed by our gayaka sangham.These songs are selected to
sing in the devotional concert, conducted in the parumala church
premises on the eve of the feast.
Kochuyerushlem
A yearly supplement that is being issued by St.Ignatius Orthodox Maha
Edavaka and is released every year on the day our church feasts. This
News Supplement, we make sure that it is supplied to all the churches
under Thumpamon Diocese. We are proud to say that the name of this news
supplement was given after our holy saint Parumala thirumeni had named
our church Kochu Jerusalem. Editorial board of Our news supplement is by
the members of St.George's OCYM.
About St George's OCYM
The St.Georges OCYM of our parish meets every Sunday after the Holy
Qurbana. The sessions comprise of prayer, bible reading, devotional
songs, classes/speeches, quizzes, personality development programmes,
games, entertainment programs etc. Various activities include activities
such as educational events, cultural and sports activities (Youth
Carrnival), youth camps, blood donation camps and various charity
events.
